This connector combines the small form factor with the huge performance of DisplayPort 2.0, which offers transfer rates up to 80 Gbps. This bandwidth allows you to connect the latest displays without the need for compression, for example up to 4K at 240 Hz or up to 8K at 60 Hz. To achieve even better values, the standard then uses DSC (Display Stream Compression) technology, which is visually lossless image compression. Using this, the theoretical possibilities are pushed up to, for example, 8K at 120 Hz or even 16K at 60 Hz. In order to use its maximum potential, full support from both the signal source and the monitor is required.
