1" Sensor Size

The sensor size of 1 inch indicates the type of image chip in the camera. The "1 inch" designation is an established trade name and does not correspond to the actual physical size, the diagonal of the sensor is actually approximately 15.9 mm. This type of sensor is significantly larger than the sensors commonly used in mobile phones or basic device models. Due to its larger surface area, it can capture significantly more light, resulting in better quality photos and videos, especially in low-light conditions such as dusk or dawn. The larger sensor also produces less digital noise, which is the unwanted graininess in an image that shows up in low light. At the same time, it usually offers a wider dynamic range, the camera's ability to preserve detail in both too dark and too light parts of the frame simultaneously, reducing so-called over- and under-firing.
