With its minimum focus distance of 20cm and 1.0× magnification ratio, it is mainly ideal for taking macro pictures, such as those featuring insects or flowers. However, it can likewise capture objects from a medium distance very effectively, even in motion. The maximum aperture of the lens is an impressive F/2.8. The lens provides a stable focal length of 50mm (Full-Frame sensor) and 75mm (APS-C sensor), respectively, assuring that the taken shots will always feel natural to the human eye. In addition, its minimal weight of only 295g will make it easier to be handheld in a stable position during shooting.
