  • The BIONZ X image processing engine offers more detail with less noise
  • LCD monitor tiltable up to 180 degrees
  • Simply share photos and videos via Wi-Fi connection

Advanced Sensor

The 18,2MP Exmor R  CMOS sensor is characterized by high speed, sensitivity and dynamic range. The BIONZ X image processing engine reproduces more realistic detail and colour in images with less diffraction and noise. Record videos in full HD resolution, even when using a one-hand recording. Sony's advanced image analysis technology and five-axis image stabilisation counteract camera shake. As a result, you will easily achieve blur-less image while recording moving objects or when using only one hand.

Far-Tilting LCD Monitor

The high-resolution LCD monitor on the camera back can be tilted up to 180 degrees, so you can comfortably frame a selfie prior to shooting it or shoot at a low position while watching a scene you want to capture. To retouch the appearance of people in photos, you can use Beauty Effect to smooth skin, tone skin, dull overly glistening skin, widen eyes and brighten teeth — all in camera.

Simple WiFi and NFC Sharing

The Sony CyberShot DSC-WX500 features built-in Near Field Communication (NFC) technology providing "One-touch connection" to compatible Android or iOS smartphones and tablets. Share your photos and movies instantly by sending them to your smartphone or tablet using Wi-Fi connection. Download PlayMemories Mobile to your mobile device and control the camera remotely!

Long Battery Life

Do not worry about battery life while travelling. A fully charged battery lets you take approx. 400 stills or record 75 minutes of movie footage to make sure that you won't miss a good chance to shoot.

Manufacturer information

Sony Corporation is a Japanese company founded in 1946. Its headquarters is located in Tokyo. Its beginnings were humble. The first product sold under the Sony brand was a transistor radio. It was those radios that played a pivotal role in the company's expansion in the 1960s and the world quickly began to associate Sony products with a reliably stellar price-performance ratio.

In the 1970s, Sony was severely affected by the global economic crisis. Many analysts considered the company effectively defunct and could see no future for it. However, they underestimated the famous Japanese perseverance and courage. The crisis was not a disaster for Sony; on the contrary, it served as a launching pad to even greater heights. The company recovered and soon changed the media landscape with the development of the CD and later the DVD. In the early 1990s, Sony achieved another major success with the introduction of the PlayStation gaming console. It is the gaming consoles that best represent the intersection of the three key areas in which the company operates today – electronics, video games, and the entertainment industry.
