Sony FE 20mm f/1.8 G
Sony's optical technologies in the fixed focal length, high aperture wide-angle lens achieve impressive resolution from f/1.8. The Sony FE 20mm f/1.8 G lens also combines with the E mount camera to create a mobile system with powerful autofocus, excellent handling and reliability for a wide range of needs. Two AA (Advanced Aspherical) elements in an innovative optical design minimize aberration, ensuring excellent resolution across the entire image area.

Key features of the Sony FE 20mm f/1.8 G
- G-Series fixed focal length ultra-wide angle lens
- XD linear motor with excellent vibration-free response enables fast, accurate and quiet autofocusing
- Two AA elements and three ED glasses for high resolution over the entire image area
- Anti-glare Sony Nano AR layer to prevent glare and shadow images
- Focus lock button and other functions support professional photography
- Natural bokeh thanks to circular aperture with 9 blades
- Fluorine coating on front member and dust and moisture resistant construction
- Optimised for modern Sony AF systems with high speed and accurate subject tracking

Lightweight design for increased mobility and better handling
Weighing 373 grams, the Sony FE 20mm f/1.8 G's sophisticated optical design incorporates two AA elements. The small size and light weight increase mobility when used with compact E mount cameras and create a balanced system that is ideal for use on three-axis stabilizers or accessory grips. The versatile FE 20mm F1.8 G lens is suitable for a variety of shooting and filming situations.

Smooth and natural-looking bokeh effect
In addition to the precise control of spherical aberration that affects the bokeh effect, the FE 20mm F1.8 G features a circular aperture with 9 blades that contributes to the bokeh effect and natural-looking high brightness that are the hallmarks of the G-series lenses.
Realistic reproduction of point sources
The lens incorporates two AA (Advanced Aspherical) elements and three ED extra-low dispersion glass elements to minimize front-to-back flare, so that point light sources are reproduced accurately and without colour blur.

XD linear motors for autofocus and tracking
Two linear XD (eXtreme Dynamic) motors keep pace with the fast features of the latest cameras, allowing you to take full advantage of the autofocus speed and tracking capability to capture dynamic subjects. The Algorithms enable smooth and lag-free control of a group of focusing elements in the lens, thus providing quiet and responsive autofocusing with low vibration.
Close-up performance, even for selfies
Except for the focal length of 20 mm, which is great for taking selfies, the lens offers a minimum focusing distance of just 0.19 metres in autofocus mode, and as little as 0.18 metres when manually focusing. It's an excellent choice for mounting on a three-axis stabilizer or grip, whether you're shooting selfies or other subjects.

Smooth operation and high reliability in a compact body
The focus lock button, focus mode switch, aperture ring and other controls allow for easy and smooth operation. Functions can be assigned to the focus lock button via settings in the camera body menu, that support the user's individual photography needs. The front member of the lens is coated with a fluorine coating to repel water and dirt. The lens design is dust and moisture resistant for outdoor use in harsh environments.

Sony Corporation is a Japanese company founded in 1946. Its headquarters is located in Tokyo. Its beginnings were humble. The first product sold under the Sony brand was a transistor radio. It was those radios that played a pivotal role in the company's expansion in the 1960s and the world quickly began to associate Sony products with a reliably stellar price-performance ratio. In the 1970s, Sony was severely affected by the global economic crisis. Many analysts considered the company effectively defunct and could see no future for it. However, they underestimated the famous Japanese perseverance and courage. The crisis was not a disaster for Sony; on the contrary, it served as a launching pad to even greater heights. The company recovered and soon changed the media landscape with the development of the CD and later the DVD. In the early 1990s, Sony achieved another major success with the introduction of the PlayStation gaming console. It is the gaming consoles that best represent the intersection of the three key areas in which the company operates today – electronics, video games, and the entertainment industry.
