Super-sized sensor
Size definitely matters, even more so when it comes to SONY’s Super 35mm sensor, which gracefully captures images with cinematic depth of field.
The wide-ranging zoom lens (with a 4.8 zoom ratio) covers wide-angle perspectives while bringing many features for a full-frame or even a still-photography system.
For the dedicated filmmaker
An excellent camera doesn't hinder your movement, even while working on the roughest of terrains. It should also be possible to position the device at different angles, allowing you greater flexibility. This is why the PXW-FS5K rests comfortably against your chest or sits neatly on your shoulder. Its ergonomically designed and optimally balanced handgrip allows you effective control of the camera and features an adjustable support arm. The viewfinder is easily adjustable, and for a different view there’s always the built-in 3.5” LCD monitor. The camera features two SD/ SDHC/SDXC slots that support simultaneous or relay recording.
Super Slow Motion footage
A good camera allows you to get into tight spaces and record from all sorts of angles. When quality is everything, try using the 4K setting at 100Mbps. Make the most of the Super35 Exmor sensor and shoot 100Mbps QFHD (3840 x 2160) using Sony's advanced XAVC (Long GOP) recording system. High Frame Rate shots can turn everyday action into a slow-motion dance, and the FS5 delivers a stunning 240 frames per second (fps) in Full HD XAVC 10bit 4:2:2. If your project is shot in cinematic 24p, you get beautiful 10x Super Slow Motion.
Stunning-quality lens
The PXW-FS5K’s E-mount can take Cinema lenses and SLR lenses with a third party adaptor, as well as Sony’s E-mount and A-mount lenses. So whether you are buying new lenses or making use of lenses you already own, the FS5 makes it easy. This model comes with the EPZ 18-105 mm F4 G OSS (SELP18105G) lens, which provides stunning imagery, high resolution and contrast along with a 6x power zoom.
Additional camera features include a GPS metadata receiver, Wi-Fi facilitated video streaming and wireless NFC.

Sony Corporation is a Japanese company founded in 1946. Its headquarters is located in Tokyo. Its beginnings were humble. The first product sold under the Sony brand was a transistor radio. It was those radios that played a pivotal role in the company's expansion in the 1960s and the world quickly began to associate Sony products with a reliably stellar price-performance ratio. In the 1970s, Sony was severely affected by the global economic crisis. Many analysts considered the company effectively defunct and could see no future for it. However, they underestimated the famous Japanese perseverance and courage. The crisis was not a disaster for Sony; on the contrary, it served as a launching pad to even greater heights. The company recovered and soon changed the media landscape with the development of the CD and later the DVD. In the early 1990s, Sony achieved another major success with the introduction of the PlayStation gaming console. It is the gaming consoles that best represent the intersection of the three key areas in which the company operates today – electronics, video games, and the entertainment industry.
