TSA lock

The primary purpose of a TSA lock system, marked with a red diamond symbol, is to allow baggage to be easily opened for inspection without damage. It can also speed up the inspection process. TSA security officers can open and check luggage with this type of lock without having to destroy it. All TSA locks are marked with a code from TSA001 to TSA007, which corresponds to the type of master key designed to open that specific lock type. TSA lock keys are not publicly available and are only accessible to TSA personnel. After inspecting the luggage, these officers are required to place a notice of inspection in your suitcase and must re-lock it. It is particularly recommended when travelling to the USA, as the TSA is primarily an American organisation, but TSA standards are also used at airports outside the United States.
