Thanks to its tunnel construction with reinforced Durawrap poles, it is easy to pitch and can withstand even more demanding conditions. The high-quality materials of the flysheets and groundsheet ensure protection from the weather, breathability, and comfort. A large, detachable bedroom and a spacious porch with standing height provide enough room for four adults, luggage, and even for cooking in the rain.
High-quality materials ensure functionality and safety
The Bard 4 Family is made from high-quality materials that ensure reliability and a long service life, even with regular use. The layered polyethylene groundsheet is one of the strongest materials used in family tents – it is abrasion-resistant, waterproof, and provides secure protection against moisture and dirt. The structure is made of Durawrap poles, which are an improved version of classic fibreglass, where a polyester film is applied to the core of the fibreglass pole. This makes the material as a whole stronger, more flexible, and more durable, which significantly extends the lifespan of the tent's support poles. Another major advantage of Durawrap is that if a pole breaks, the ends do not fray, so there are no sharp edges that could damage the tent.
The Bard 4 Family will protect you in any weather
The outer flysheet of the Bard 4 Family tent is made of durable 185T Polyester, which is lightweight, non-absorbent, and resistant to tearing and fading. Thanks to its quick-drying synthetic fibres, it provides reliable protection against adverse weather. Protection against moisture is ensured by a polyurethane coating with a water resistance of 3,000mm H₂O, which creates a permanent waterproof layer and prevents water penetration even during heavy rain. The inner tent is made of fine, lightweight, and breathable 190T Nylon, which is strong, flexible, and resistant to mechanical damage. Ventilation and a pleasant climate inside the tent are supported by an integrated mesh mosquito net, which ensures air circulation while providing reliable protection against insects.
Maintenance and proper storage for a longer lifespan
After each use, the tent must be thoroughly cleaned and completely dried before storing – even if it didn't rain during camping, as moisture condenses even in dry weather. Clean only with lukewarm water, using a mild soap if necessary, and always with a soft sponge or cloth. Avoid fabric softeners, bleach, and harsh chemicals that could damage the protective coating. Store the tent in a dry environment and extend its life by regularly using special waterproofing products. Each tent comes with a repair kit containing a spare pole segment, patches, and glue for quick repairs in case of damage – it is recommended to address any issues immediately. Before pitching the tent, always check the ground and remove any sharp objects to avoid tearing the groundsheet or flysheet.

Hydrostatic Head
Indicates the resistance of the fabric and seams to water penetration. It specifies the amount of water the material can hold before it starts to leak. The higher the value in mm, the more resistant the tent is. Every tent should have a flysheet with a hydrostatic head of at least 2,000mm, which is approximately the pressure exerted by a raindrop travelling at 80–90 km/h. To survive a storm unscathed, a hydrostatic head of at least 3,000mm is a safer bet. For the groundsheet, a hydrostatic head of 5,000mm is recommended for general hiking. For more demanding conditions, choose a groundsheet with a hydrostatic head of 8,000–10,000mm.Specifications
