Innovative MIPS® technology
MIPS® (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) technology consists of three main parts. EPS polystyrene shell, MIPS slip liner and elastomers that connect the first two parts. In the event of an angled impact, the elastomers will stretch, allowing the helmet shell to move slightly against the MIPS glide insert, thereby absorbing rotational forces. This is a movement of a few millimetres. But even these few millimeters, during those critical 2 milliseconds, can significantly reduce the amount of rotational forces that would otherwise be transferred to the brain.
