Origin of cashew nuts

  • Cashew nuts are actually the pits of cashew apples that grow on a tree called the Western Kidney Nut. The tree grows in the tropics and reaches a height of up to 12 metres. One apple, one nut. The cashew apple may look more like a red pepper, but its taste is sweet with a sour finish.
