NIKWAX Down Proof is a powerful impregnator for down-filled clothing and equipment, i.e. various types of down jackets and down sleeping bags. This easy-to-use and effective impregnation increases the water resistance of the material and restores the original insulating properties and breathability of the down. The product can be easily and quickly applied during machine and hand washing.

Use:
For best results, first remove all parts not suitable for washing and wash in Nikwax® Down Wash. It is not necessary to dry things before impregnation. Shake well before use. Respect the symbols on the product.
Applications in the washing machine:
Remove any detergent residue from the detergent dispenser. Put clean clothes in the washing machine. Use 150 ml of Down Prooof for one piece of clothing. Set to synthetic programme (40°C) and low spin speed.
Handheld applications:
For manual application, use gloves. Immerse the garment in a container or basin of warm water to keep your hands in it. For clothing, use 150 ml for one piece or 300 ml for two pieces of clothing. Make sure that your clothes are completely submerged in water. For sleeping bags, use 300 ml of Down Proof in a tub where the water is approximately four centimetres deep. (Three to four season sleeping bags should be professionally cleaned). Rinse, let soak for 5-10 minutes and then rinse again. Soak in cold water until the water is clear. Drain and gently squeeze out excess water.
Drying:
Hang the product in an airy environment and shake and shake regularly. If allowed by the manufacturer, tumble dry at a low temperature until all lint is gone. To maintain the impregnation of down products, always use Nikwax® Down Wash Direct to clean them.
