PK shop Emergency thermal, green

The PK Shop emergency bivvy bag is an ultra-lightweight and compact solution for emergency overnight stays in nature. It serves as protection against the cold, wind, and moisture during camping, hiking, or in unexpected situations. The bag is made from mylar fabric, which reflects 70–90% of body heat back to the user. Thanks to its low weight of just 125.4 grams and compact packed dimensions, it fits into any backpack as part of a survival kit.

A Material That Reflects Heat

The core of the bivvy bag is mylar fabric, also known as a space blanket. This material has the ability to reflect up to 90% of body heat back to the user, helping to maintain thermal comfort in cold conditions. The surface is also windproof and water-resistant, so it will protect you from adverse weather. The bag thus creates a sealed barrier that prevents heat loss and moisture penetration from the outside, which is crucial for survival in emergency situations.

How and When to Use the Bivvy Bag

The emergency bag is not a full-fledged substitute for a traditional sleeping bag; its primary purpose is for emergency situations. At temperatures above 10°C, it can be used for an emergency overnight stay. In the range of 0 to 10°C, its use is possible, but with a risk of hypothermia. Below freezing, it serves only as an additional layer to another sleeping bag. As the material is not breathable, moisture may condense inside, so it is important to ventilate the bag regularly. It also does not provide ground insulation, so it is necessary to combine it with a sleeping mat or other pad.

Safety and Portability

For safe use, it is necessary to keep the bag at a sufficient distance from open flames and other heat sources, as the material melts easily. Place it on a smooth surface without sharp stones or branches to prevent it from tearing. To increase safety in an emergency, an emergency whistle is included, which you can use to easily call for help. Thanks to its extremely low weight and small packed dimensions, the bag is an ideal addition to any backpack as part of a survival kit.
