Medium-chain triglycerides, or MCT fats, occur naturally in coconut, where they are obtained by fractional distillation. They have twice the energy value of carbohydrates, but are used by the body in a different way than traditional fats - they are used as fuel for the muscles and brain, but are not stored in the tissues. Puhdistamo MCT oil contains 60% caprylic acid (C8) = source of very fast energy, and 40% capric acid = source of medium fast energy + vitality support. MCT fats can therefore be used as an ingredient in any beverage (e.g. in coffee or smoothies), or a meal as a meal replacement aid. The product is lactose, milk and gluten free. The product does not contain gelatin or ingredients of animal origin.
