The Synology RS2423+ serves as a network storage solution for centralised data management and backup in a business environment. This 12-bay rackmount device offers sequential read speeds of 3500MB/s and write speeds of 1700MB/s. The powerful AMD Ryzen V1780B processor is complemented by 8GB of DDR4 RAM, which is expandable up to 32GB for more demanding operations. The device runs on the DiskStation Manager operating system and supports both 3.5" SATA HDDs and 2.5" SATA SSDs. It is ideal for small and medium-sized businesses or branch offices for file management and data storage.

High performance of the Synology RS2423+
The device achieves random read and write values of over 155000 and 79000 IOPS, respectively. Sequential read speed is 3500MB/s and write speed is 1700MB/s. Compared to the previous RS2421+ models, it offers 27% faster sequential read and 26% faster sequential write speeds. The AMD Ryzen V1780B processor performs computational operations at a frequency of 3.35GHz. The 8GB of DDR4 system memory is installed in one of the two available slots.
Capacity expansion options
The basic twelve bays can be expanded by an additional twelve with the RX1223RP expansion unit for a total of twenty-four drive bays. Users can increase the IOPS values of HDDs by adding an NVMe or SATA SSD cache. A free PCIe slot is available for installing optional 10GbE or 25GbE SFP+/SFP28 network cards to improve I/O performance or redundancy.
Reliable NAS network connection
The network interface includes one 10GbE RJ-45 port and three gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet ports. The Link Aggregation service combines these network connections for failover and network load balancing. Two units can be linked together to form a Synology High Availability cluster, creating an active-passive server pair to keep all services operational.
Centralised business data backup
Active Backup for Business centralises backups from Windows, macOS and Linux computers, servers, and VMware and Hyper-V virtual machines in one place. The system backs up virtual machines as well as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace cloud services. Block-level deduplication saves storage capacity, simplifies compliance with information retention policies, and reduces bandwidth consumption.
Security snapshots and camera system for the Synology RS2423+
Snapshot Replication creates snapshots of shared folders at intervals as short as five minutes, with the ability to restore in seconds. Hyper Backup saves backups to external drives, Synology C2 Storage, or other Synology devices. Connecting with Hybrid Share cloud storage simplifies sharing large amounts of data between branch offices, with frequently used data stored in a local cache. Surveillance Station supports up to 75 IP cameras from a database of compatible devices. Manage cameras via a web browser, desktop clients, or the DS cam mobile app. Recordings are stored locally with AES-256 encryption to protect against unauthorised access. Intelligent monitoring features are available, such as motion detection, no-idle zone monitoring, and foreign object detection.
