The Synology RS2423RP+II NAS serves as network-attached storage for centralised file storage, business data backup, and running corporate applications. High performance
At the heart of the system is a quad-core AMD Ryzen V1780B processor with a frequency of 3.35GHz. The basic 8GB of DDR4 ECC RAM can be expanded up to 32GB. The hardware provides stable computing performance for demanding operations, such as database transfers or virtualisation. The random read speed is over 155000 IOPS.
Fast network connection
The device integrates one 10GbE RJ-45 port and two gigabit ports. These ports support Link Aggregation, which combines the lines to increase throughput. The network interface supports automatic failover in the event of a path failure. This gives users uninterrupted access to stored data and effective load balancing during high network traffic. The system also supports the installation of additional network cards in the PCIe interface.
Flexible capacity
The basic configuration offers 12 bays for 3.5" SATA HDDs or 2.5" SATA SSDs. The total capacity can be increased by connecting an RX1223RP external unit via the dedicated mini-SAS HD port. The storage space can accommodate up to 24 drives when the external unit is connected. The device supports SHR, Basic, JBOD, RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 6, and RAID 10.
Operation and reliability
The Synology RS2423RP+II NAS offers a redundant power supply, which reduces the risk of unplanned downtime. If one power supply module fails, the second one takes over the load. Redundant power protects critical business systems from power outages. In addition, the hard drives support hot-swapping without needing to shut down the entire system.
Object surveillance
The system functions as a comprehensive Surveillance Station monitoring centre. You can connect up to 75 IP cameras to the device to secure business premises. The application supports thousands of certified camera models from various brands. Recordings are managed through an interface with advanced video analysis. Users can watch live streams and review recordings from over 86300 compatible camera models.
Secure backup of company data
The DiskStation Manager operating system includes free tools for creating backups. Users can create system snapshots or back up data to the cloud. The storage supports endpoint backup and integration with Apple Time Machine. The system also serves as a reliable host for virtualisation platforms.
