The Synology RS826RP+ NAS storage stores, shares and backs up company data in a 1U rackmount design. The NAS is powered by a quad-core 64-bit AMD Ryzen V1500B processor with a frequency of 2.2GHz. The 4GB of DDR4 RAM can be expanded up to 32GB using the two memory slots. The device holds four hard drives with a total capacity of up to 96TB and supports RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 6 or RAID 10 configurations. It reaches sequential read speeds of 2080MB/s and write speeds of 1388MB/s. The NAS runs on the DiskStation Manager operating system.

Storage expansion options
The basic configuration with four drive bays provides space for storing a large volume of data. You can further increase the capacity by connecting an RX426 expansion unit via the built-in USB-C port. The device supports a total of four drive bays with a total capacity of up to 96TB. This system supports both SATA hard drives and fast SSDs to create an SSD cache.
Network interface
Four integrated gigabit LAN ports connect the device to the local network. Users can use the free third-generation PCIe slot to install add-in cards. The network connectivity can be expanded with 10GbE or 25GbE adapters for demanding network operations. The system supports link aggregation for increased throughput and redundancy.
DSM operating system and data management
The entire storage system is managed by the DiskStation Manager operating system with its clear interface. This system includes integrated tools for backing up computers, servers and cloud services. Users get five licences for the MailPlus mail server at no extra cost. The platform supports advanced file systems and snapshots for protection against ransomware.
Camera system
The device also serves as a recorder for surveillance systems thanks to the Surveillance Station application. You can connect up to 40 IP cameras to the storage unit for continuous monitoring of properties. The entire camera system can be managed remotely via a web browser or mobile app.
