Default and Extend Mode

The specialty of the Tenda TEF1109P-8-63W is a switch for selecting from Default and Extend modes. In Default mode, it works as a normal switch, with all ports having auto-negation and 10/100 Mbps. In Extend, VLANs are enabled on each PoE port. This means that PoE ports only transmit data to the uplink port and not to each other. Speed is limited to 10Mbps, auto-negation is active and increases the range from standard 100m to 250m (depending on conditions, cables, and devices).
