Basic rules of the game

The game campaign is played over several rounds. During each game, players acquire pieces and use them to create a garden that has the best combination of colours and symbols. Each round consists of three phases - Player Action, Sub-evaluation and Preparation for the next round. In the action phase, you'll be grabbing beds from the shop window, strategically placing them in your storage and then laying them sensitively in your garden. The player who scores the highest number of points wins. Game Azul: Gardens for the Queen offers the optimal combination of long-term planning strategy and tactical decision-making.

Every move counts: plan and earn points

An innovative piece selection mechanism, paying costs in the form of other pieces and the ability to use joker pieces make every move a well thought out decision. Strategic placement of bed tiles and surrounding garden features (fountains, statues, benches, pavilions) is also key, which will earn you bonus joker pieces. After each round, there is a partial evaluation where you win points for the selected colours and symbols, and at the end of the game it all adds up. Whoever gets the most points will be the winner and will win the favour of the Queen.
