The kit is a 1:72 scale model of the Viking ship Knarr from around 1030. Length of the model ship is 220 mm, mostly made of wood with small accessories, includes building plan and instructions with many detailed pictures. A knarr is a type of Viking merchant ship designed for long-distance trade. Knarr was of very robust construction to withstand well the adverse weather conditions on the high seas. The model is based on the Knarr found near the Danish town of Roskilde, named Skuldelev 1 after the site. The ship was built in Norway between 1030 and 1050 mostly of oak and pine. The length of the ship was 16.3 m and the cargo capacity was 24 t. The stylish box with a photograph of the finished model is carefully and tastefully and graphically executed and contains the name, technical data and scale of the model. When you open the lid of the box you will find the wooden parts of the model made of plywood, a set of mouldings, small parts enclosed in a plastic transparent blister, a set of drawings and a manual.

Recommended equipment for building the model
To simplify the construction and get a perfect result, it is advisable to buy a set of ready-made pre-sewn sails for this model. It is recommended to buy tools, glue and paint for the construction. We recommend the Modelcraft Ship Modeler Tool Set (12 piece set) or the Modelcraft Modeler Tool Set (18 piece set). It is also recommended to purchase nylon clamps and indispensable modeling pins. For finishing, precision cutting, gluing of parts and also as a protection of the table it is recommended to use a modelling mat. For bonding, universal dispersion adhesive and Robitronic medium instant adhesive (20 ml) are recommended. For painting acrylic enamel paints. The paints are applied with quality brushes - flat brushes for larger areas and round brushes for details.

Included in the mock-up kit package is a set of laser-cut plywood panels and complete wood parts, brass parts, planks and strips for the deck, pre-printed flags, fabric for the sail, and enough rigging for the entire boat. A detailed construction plan and precise instructions, manual EN, CZ help the assembly.
Recommended minimum equipment for a ship modeler:
Modeling knife or scalpel, mini drill, drill bits with diameters from 0.5 to 3 mm, sandpaper of different grits, scissors, tweezers, clothespins, Pencil, ruler, a set of needle files, a sewing machine for sewing sails.
