Fromage combines worker placement and a unique rotating game plan that rotates after each round to transform the available actions. This symbolizes the changing seasons and the need to adapt to changing conditions. Cheese can be made quickly and sold immediately. Longer maturation time will bring you more prestige and points, while you lose time and other opportunities. You'll attend festivals, trade in towns, build bistros and granaries, and fill orders.
Rotating game plan for tension throughout the game
Each turn of Fromage is divided into several phases: sourcing of raw materials, cheese production, maturing and marketing. There are only certain actions available due to the rotating plan, so the player is forced to think about the order of actions. Workers are blocked during the cheese ripening period, which puts a time strain. Fulfilling orders not only earns you points, but also new opportunities. A well-thought-out strategy brings an advantage, but the game is also accessible to less experienced players.
