Mamoli America 1851 1:66 kit

The MAMOLI America kit is in 1:66 scale and dates from 1851. The yacht America was built in 1851 at the William Brown shipyard in New York. On 22 August she completed a memorable race around the Isle of Wight. In the package are wooden parts, rails and many fittings, rigging, plans and Czech instructions. America's hull was a real novelty for its time, especially her sleek design and low waterline. Compared to other yachts of the time, the fine lines, low draft and special sail shape made of extremely light cotton fabric were real innovations. To date, the "Cup der 100 Guineen" - later called the "America's Cup" - is considered the most important regatta in the world. The Kit is manufactured today using modern laser technology, which ensures high precision assembly of components. Double formwork is standard. Includes many fittings in cast metal or wood. Mamoli boat models have been popular for many years. A wide range of different model types and classic materials characterise this series.

Mamoli models

The Mamoli non-floating boat kits are very popular, thanks to the large selection of models with many elements at an attractive price. The parts of the kit are carved using modern laser technology, which ensures that the individual parts fit perfectly. All accessories in the set are made of wood and metal and are largely pre-machined. Anyone who longs for their own custom boat must prepare to be busy in the evenings for many weeks or months. It means having a certain skill and knowledge of leverage with different materials, adhesives, paints and varnishes. Recommended equipment for building the model

To simplify the construction and get a perfect result, it is recommended to buy a set of ready-made pre-sewn sails for this model. It is recommended to buy tools, glue and paint for the construction. We recommend the Modelcraft Ship Modeler Tool Set (12 piece set) or the Modelcraft Modeler Tool Set (18 piece set). It is also recommended to purchase nylon clamps and indispensable modeling pins.
