The Mantua Model Sharke kit is in 1:50 scale. The kit contains double planking. The brass castings are nicely finished. The rigging is completed with a silk flag. All plywood parts are laser cut for precision. A set of pre-stitched Sharke sails is available separately. As this is a model for advanced modellers, only a brief manual is included to show the building procedure. However, it cannot cover the technology of processing materials, the method of gluing, dyeing, sanding or painting. These are classic modelling procedures, which everyone chooses according to their own possibilities and habits.

British schooner from 1711
The beautiful schooner was built in 1711 at the Deptford shipyards on the Thames and was armed with 8-10 guns for the protection of the English Channel. It was a fast and inconspicuous ship used to pursue smugglers. With her huge sail area, HMS Sharke could appear at any time in a flash. Because of her shallow draft and minimal tonnage, she could follow smugglers almost anywhere, even up shallow rivers and across dangerous shoals. With her armament of guns and falconets she could easily cope with any smuggling ship.
Set of drawings
The set includes a complete set of drawing documentation of the 1:1 scale model with pictures of the individual details. The drawing shows the assemblies, their assembly including masts and booms and the method of tying the rigging. The multilingual construction procedure frames the logical assembly of the individual components.

Kits for intermediate builders are suitable for builders who have already built a simple model for beginners and have basic modelling experience. Models of this difficulty are more elaborate, contain more details and are more time consuming to build.

Recommended equipment for building the model
It is recommended to buy tools, glue and paint for the construction. We recommend the Modelcraft Ship Modeler Tool Set (12 piece set) or the Modelcraft Modeler Tool Set (18 piece set). It is also recommended to purchase nylon clamps and indispensable modeling pins. For finishing, precision cutting, gluing of parts and also as a protection of the table it is recommended to use a modelling mat. For bonding, universal dispersion adhesive and Robitronic medium instant adhesive (20 ml) are recommended. For painting acrylic enamel paints. The paints are applied with quality brushes - flat brushes for larger areas and round brushes for details.

Recommended minimum equipment for a ship modeler:
