The card game Name, City and So On will take you through a brisk battle of words. Come up with original answers, get rid of cards and face twists and turns that will surprise you in every game. The game will entertain you at home at the table, but also on the road or when meeting friends. Name, Town and So On is a modern variation on the well-known schoolroom game. This time, however, you don't need paper and pencil, everything is taken care of by a pair of decks of cards. The blue deck contains letters and action cards, the red deck contains category cards divided into three difficulty levels. At the start of the round you choose a category, for example "Sport" or "Film", and then you have to use the letter cards in your hand as quickly as possible. Each letter played must be accompanied by a word that fits the chosen category. You say, for example, "F for football" or "H for hockey".

Get rid of all cards first
The goal is to get rid of all the cards in your hand, but the path to doing so is not easy. If you make a mistake, repeat a word you've already spoken or don't answer within the time limit, you have to make up the cards. Into this come action cards that shake up the game significantly, which can turn the direction of the game, skip players, force someone to switch their entire hand or change categories. Interestingly, there are also special letters marked +1, +2 or +3 that allow you to deal additional cards to your opponents, making things more difficult for them. The game continues until someone manages to get rid of all the cards. The winner of the whole game is the one who can win three rounds.
History and creators of the game
Pierre Faucon, a French game designer who has long been dedicated to creating accessible and fun family games, is behind the card game Name, City and So On. He was inspired by the classic word game "Name, City, Animal, Thing" that people have played for generations with just a pencil and paper. Faucon decided to bring this tradition into a modern form, adding card mechanisms and game twists that make every game exciting and unexpected. The game was first released in 2022 by Yaqua Games, which focuses on family and party games with an emphasis on simple rules and high fun. Since its launch, it has quickly spread to many countries and has gained popularity due to its ability to bring different generations together at the same table. The game Name, City and So On will be released in the Czech and Slovak markets in 2025, so domestic players will be able to try it in their own language for the first time. The ability to play in teams makes it ideal for family nights, with every member of the family finding their place, children coming up with imaginative answers, adults with insight and grandparents with experience.
