Discover the fascinating world of lions

Lions are the only big cats whose males have a mane that makes them clearly distinguishable from females. It takes 5 years for a lion's mane to fully grow. The larger the lion's mane, the more terrifying it is to attackers in its territory, whom it defends. Lions are the only ones that hunt together in packs - although this task is usually left to the lionesses. Because they are not very fast, unlike the cheetah who use their strength as pride. They prowl from different directions, surround their prey and seize the moment of surprise. In this way, they can kill large ungulates such as wildebeest and zebra and even buffalo or weak elephant.
