Discover the interesting world of prehistoric animals
With the Schleich Triceratops figure you can discover the interesting world of dinosaurs. What was Triceratops actually like? The name Triceratops means "three horns on the head". Although it looked dangerous, it fed exclusively on plants. As an herbivore, he was pursued by Tyrannosaurus Rex. The front part of its jaw was shaped like a parrot's beak, which is used for separating plant food. Triceratops had three horns made of keratin, the same protein that makes nails and hair. The corners above his eyes were almost a metre long. Since his head weighed almost as much as a small car and was about a third of his body, he also had a very heavy tail to balance his ten-meter-long body. The legs were very strong, similar to the legs of today's elephants.
