History of the game and its creators
The Superclub Rivals board game follows the successful Superclub series of games from the Norwegian publisher Superclub, which specialises in football management games. The original Superclub game was released in 2020 and has been expanded with a number of add-ons and special editions due to the overwhelming response. Launched in 2023, Rivals is a new standalone game for two, with a team of Norwegian developers, led by Hans Ove Morken, Norwegian game designer and founder of Superclub. The visuals were created by Kurt Aust, a Norwegian illustrator whose dynamic style gave the game an authentic football atmosphere.
