Advanced L3 features and network management
The switch operates at Layer 3 (L3), which enables the use of static routing to efficiently direct traffic between different networks without needing an external router. It supports up to 1000 VLANs, which serve to logically divide the network into smaller, isolated segments, thereby increasing the security and clarity of the infrastructure. Using the QoS (Quality of Service) feature, you can prioritise network traffic and ensure the smooth running of critical applications such as video conferencing or VoIP calls.
Security and traffic control
The Ubiquiti Etherlighting switch includes a range of network security tools. The 802.1X feature verifies the identity of devices connected to the ports and prevents access by unauthorised clients. Access Control Lists (ACLs) let you define rules for filtering traffic based on IP addresses, MAC addresses or ports. Protection against unwanted activity is complemented by DHCP snooping, which blocks unauthorised DHCP servers, and IGMP snooping, which optimises multicast traffic and reduces unnecessary network load.
High throughput and connectivity
The switch is equipped with ports for demanding business deployments. There are 24 RJ-45 ports, 24 SFP+ ports and 2 SFP ports available. A total of 26 ports operate at 10Gbit/s, which is ideal for connecting servers, network storage and other key infrastructure elements.
