The Ubiquiti UniFi Protect UVC-G6 turret IP camera records in detailed 3840 × 2160 px resolution at 30 FPS for monitoring outdoor environments. High resolution
The optical system is based on a large 1/1.8" 8MP CMOS sensor that records video at 3840 × 2160 px resolution at 30 frames per second. The fixed lens provides a wide field of view with a horizontal angle of 109.9°, a vertical angle of 56.7° and a screen size angle of 134.1°. Video is stored in H.264 compression format, which efficiently reduces data stream requirements and saves disk space.
Night vision
An integrated infrared illuminator is used for monitoring in poor light conditions. The classic night vision with built-in IR LEDs illuminates the area in front of the lens up to a distance of 30m. The camera automatically switches to night mode using a mechanical IR filter when the ambient light intensity drops. In addition, the colour display technology helps to retain colour information even in low light.
Intelligent detection
An integrated processor with artificial intelligence performs advanced image analysis directly on the device. The system can accurately distinguish the movement of people, vehicles or animals and minimises false alarms. The algorithm also supports face recognition and vehicle number plates on the monitored road. In the event of an intrusion into a selected zone, the camera activates an integrated light alarm and sends a notification to the user.
Storing recordings
Users have several options for storing captured video footage. Recordings are saved to the UniFi Protect system's storage, which serves as a central surveillance hub. If required, recordings can be further backed up to external storage or cloud services, depending on the system configuration. The system supports both continuous 24/7 recording and recording based on detected activity.
Construction and durability
The turret-type construction in a metal body withstands adverse weather conditions thanks to its IP66 protection rating. The device operates reliably in a wide temperature range from -30°C to 50°C and has an IK04 mechanical resistance rating. The three-axis joint facilitates precise manual adjustment of the shot direction when mounted on a ceiling or wall. A digital zoom is used for detailed close-ups of distant objects.
Connectivity
Network connectivity is provided by a single 10/100 Mb/s RJ-45 Ethernet port. The port also serves to power the camera using the PoE standard in the voltage range of 37–57 V DC. Device management is handled via the manufacturer's mobile app for Android and iOS operating systems or via compatible smart home systems. Support for network protocols facilitates integration into existing surveillance systems.
