The VFFOTO PS UV filter serves primarily as permanent protection for your lens. It effectively prevents scratches, water ingress, and grease contamination without affecting the colour reproduction of your images. The filter is made from Schott B270 optical glass and is equipped with 12 anti-reflective layers that minimise glare. Thanks to its low-profile frame, it does not cause vignetting, even when used with wide-angle lenses. It also absorbs ultraviolet radiation, which can slightly improve contrast in images taken at high altitudes.

Uncompromising optical quality

While the filter's main function is to protect the front element of the lens, its optical properties are crucial for maintaining image quality. That's why it is made from Schott B270 optical glass, which is used in precision optics. This glass ensures high light transmission of over 99.4% and has zero impact on exposure. Your photos will remain sharp and full of contrast, with no unwanted colour shift. The filter absorbs UV radiation. When shooting in the mountains, it helps to reduce haze.

Advanced surface coatings

The filter glass is treated on both sides with several layers that enhance its properties. It has a total of 12 anti-reflective layers (six on each side) that suppress glare and prevent reflections when shooting against the light. The filter is also equipped with three nano-layers on each side. These layers increase the glass's resistance to scratches and also have hydrophobic and oleophobic effects. Water and grease do not stick to the filter, making it easier to clean.

Construction and Czech origin

The VFFOTO PS filter is set in a thin frame. Its low-profile frame prevents vignetting—the darkening of image corners that can occur when using standard filters on wide-angle lenses. A key feature is the ability to replace the glass if it breaks, extending the life of the entire product. The filter was designed and developed in the Czech Republic, where the final assembly and quality control of each piece also takes place.
