Why is vitamin D3 important?
Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) in the form of lichen extract. The IU value indicates the amount of active ingredient in the extract. Vitamin D is needed for calcium absorption, thus affecting the condition of bones and teeth, it is needed for the immune system, muscles and its properties are also related to the psychological state. The body produces this vitamin by transforming itself after exposure to sunlight. It can also be found in animal products, but the vitamin D3 in this supplement is derived from a vegan source - lichen. We usually suffer from vitamin D deficiency in winter when there is a lack of sun, if we spend most of our time indoors or if we wear clothes that cover a large part of our body. Sunscreens also inhibit vitamin D production - sunscreen with SPF 15 reduces vitamin D production by more than 95%.
