Success. Money. Betrayal. Christmas parties. Winter and snow-covered tracks. The whistle of bullets. Lights and decorations in the streets. The smell of punch. But for Jindřichův Hradec investigators Kašmír and Lišková, the holidays are not a time of peace. Instead of pre-Christmas cheer, they are faced with a series of disturbing discoveries. They have a crime scene and clues, but they are missing one essential detail – the body. And just when the investigation finally starts moving forward, another case appears. The same pattern again – another crime scene, another empty space where a corpse should be. Everything gradually falls into place, but perhaps a little too slowly. Only the killer knows what really happened.
Jitka Ludvíková
Jitka Ludvíková was born in 1981 in Jindřichův Hradec. She graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň. She adds colour to the grey world of law by writing books full of gentle humour, which bring readers a much-needed dose of good cheer. She currently lives in Prague with her husband and daughters. She loves travelling, dancing, theatre and South Moravia. She has already published four humorous books: Zkrocení mlsného muže (Taming the Gluttonous Man), Můj manžel má jinou, no a co?! (My Husband Has Someone Else, So What?!), Osvícení zoufalého muže (Enlightenment of a Desperate Man), and Devět let natvrdo (Nine Years Hard); a story with playful tasks for pre-schoolers, Julinka a Rek (Julinka and Rek); a children's book, Hortenzie Malinová (Hortenzie Malinová); a book of short stories, Zakázané uvolnění (Icing); and the detective novels Nebezpečná hra (A Dangerous Game), Dotek minulosti (A Touch of the Past), and Dotek vraha (A Touch of the Killer).
