Perhaps they're not the most powerful or stylish models on the market, but you can still get a lot of things done, and at very reasonable prices at that. You'll be able to edit documents, prepare presentations, surf the Internet, and watch videos - basically everything that isn't graphically intensive such as the latest games. But you can surely enjoy some of the older games.   

Basic notebooks are not suitable if you need to carry them around on a daily basis, or you want to play the latest, most demanding games.
