Material
The cups are made primarily of paper, which is coated on the inside with a thin layer of polyethylene (PE). This combination of materials, marked with the symbol C/PAP 81, prevents leaks and ensures safe use with hot drinks. Although paper makes up most of the material, the attached plastic film means the cups cannot be sorted into the paper recycling bin. After use, they belong in mixed waste, which simplifies their disposal.
