XILENCE fan 60 × 60 × 15 mm, DMI

XILENCE fan 60 × 60 × 15 mm, DMI
The Xilence 60×60×15mm PC fan actively dissipates heat from the computer case and components like chipsets or power delivery systems. This product is part of the White Box series, which focuses on providing excellent value for money. The manufacturer achieves savings by using minimalist packaging. This allows production costs to be concentrated on technologies such as the bearing type and blade geometry. As a result, the fan offers reliable cooling performance without unnecessary expense. Its dimensions and 15mm thickness make it suitable for installation in small computer cases, HTPC builds, or as a replacement for older, noisier fans in network devices.
Key features of the XILENCE 60×60×15mm DMI PC fan
- Fluid dynamic bearing reduces operating noise and extends lifespan
- Maintains a constant rotational speed
- Rotor blade shape aids heat dissipation
- Quiet fan operation
- Powered by a 3-pin connector
- White Box series focuses on performance and price
- Low weight doesn't strain mounting points
Fluid dynamic bearing
The fan is built around a fluid dynamic bearing (FDB), which differs from standard sleeve bearings in its construction. Inside the bearing is a hermetically sealed oil reservoir that creates a thin film between the shaft and the sleeve. This method prevents direct contact between metal surfaces, resulting in significantly lower friction and mechanical wear. This principle leads to reduced operating noise and also substantially extends the expected service life compared to simpler bearing types, which are more prone to lubricant drying out and increasing noise over time.
Fan blade design
The fan's rotor has blades shaped for efficient air movement. At a constant speed of 2100 RPM, the fan generates an airflow of 20.39m³/h, all with a low acoustic footprint not exceeding 22dB. The special curvature and leading edges of the blades direct the airflow and limit the creation of turbulence, which is the main source of aerodynamic noise. The result is a focused and smooth stream of air that effectively cools the targeted components.
Simple installation and power
A 3-pin power connector, located at the end of a 30-centimetre cable, connects the fan to the motherboard or a controller. The 3-pin connector transmits a tachometric signal, which informs the system of the fan's current speed. This information is useful for diagnostics and monitoring the cooling status. Thanks to a thickness of just 15mm, the fan fits into very tight spaces where a 25mm thick fan could not be installed. Additionally, its low weight of 30 grams reduces stress on the mounting points.
