In addition to the screen, all functions of the Garmin vívoactive 5 can be controlled using physical buttons, which you'll appreciate during sports activities. A single charge lasts up to 11 days in smartwatch mode and up to 17 hours in GNSS mode with all satellite systems active. For precise positioning, the watch supports all satellite systems. To ensure better readability, you can choose between two font sizes (smaller/larger). The smartwatch has a built-in music player, so you can use it independently without a phone connection. Just upload your favourite playlist.

The watch can determine your fitness age based on your weekly activity, your age, resting heart rate, and BMI. Since it's normal to get stressed during the day, the Garmin vívoactive 5 includes breathing exercises to help you calm down. The Garmin vívoactive 5 constantly measures your heart rate, allowing it to accurately determine how hard your workout was. Sleep is also important, which is why the watch can assess the quality of your sleep and provide an overall sleep score. It now also tracks short naps, evaluating their benefit to your overall well-being. The Garmin smartwatch offers a range of other features you might find useful. These include: Respiration tracking - the Garmin vívoactive 5 can measure your breathing activity throughout the day (during activities, rest, and sleep) and activate breathing exercises if needed. Hydration tracking - log your fluid intake on the Garmin vívoactive 5 and set reminders to stay hydrated. Women's health tracking - use the Garmin Connect app to track your menstrual cycle or pregnancy, record personal notes, and get various information and recommended exercises. If you want to create your own workout, you can easily do so using your smartphone and the Garmin Connect app to build a customised training plan. Once it's ready, simply transfer it from the app on your smartphone to your Garmin vívoactive 5. You can now use the new wheelchair mode on your Garmin smartwatch, which tracks pushes instead of steps and offers activity tracking for handcycling and pushes. Wheelchair users can take advantage of special challenges, pre-loaded workouts, and animated workouts focused on strength, cardio, HIIT, pilates, or yoga.

If you pair the Garmin vívoactive 5 with your mobile phone, you will receive notifications for incoming emails and messages (if you have an Android, you can also reply to messages). You can confidently pay in shops directly with your smartwatch thanks to Garmin Pay support. If you love music, you'll appreciate the ability to download songs to your watch and listen with wireless headphones without needing your phone. Another benefit of the Garmin vívoactive 5 is its safety and tracking feature. If you connect the watch to your smartphone, you can send your coordinates to your contacts in case of danger or an accident, so they can call for help. This can be activated manually or automatically (during selected sports activities).
