This is a practical controller for the PCI Express x1 slot. The controller has two internal Serial ATA III ports with a maximum speed of up to 6GB/sec. Of course, it is compatible with the older SATA versions and vice versa. One of the advantages is the support of NCQ and Hot Plug. The Low Profile card and plug-in caps of both sizes can be inserted into all devices.

The NCQ technology caches read requests and once the location of the read heads is found, sets an optimal route for fastest transfer to the desired location. Drive access requirements are continuously evaluated and the header path is constantly modified. As a result, the read motion is slower and the access to the disk attached to the Serial ATA port is accelerated.
The card complies with the Europen Union RoHS directive on the ban on hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products, making it much more environmentally friendly.
