This product is a safety feature. It is to warn of CO leaks that are life-threatening. Alza does not provide any warning about the restricted use of this product. One learns about this fact only after unpacking the product from the English instruction manual. In my case, it was the need for a safety feature located in the bathroom to control a CO leak from a gas-fired instantaneous water heater. Only from the English instruction manual did I learn that the product cannot be placed in the bathroom, kitchen and other places. It was therefore unusable for my purposes and I had to return it. It would have been enough if someone at Alza had bothered to read the instruction manual, which unfortunately is incomprehensible to some as it is in English, and informed the customer in advance of the restrictions on use! It would save the time and procedures of returning the product. In conclusion - in Czech it is called "shlendrian".

After inserting 3 AA batteries the detector woke up. Pressing the test button triggered an audible alarm and a red LED-sound alarm quite loud enough which I appreciate. After pressing reset, the display lights up for a moment with the value 000, after a while it goes off (probably power saving mode) and only the green LED flashes and the display is dead so I can't see the real CO values.
