Reference AKM DAC and two tubesThe Shanling M7T is an Android hybrid player built on AKM's DAC system – a pair of AK4498EX chips with an AK4191 modulator. It also adds a pair of low-voltage JAN6418 audio tubes, housed in an anti-shock construction to suppress microphonics. Two sound profiles are available – Tube Mode for a warmer, more coloured sound, and Transistor Mode for maximum precision, detail and playback clarity. The body is made from a single piece of aluminium, with an emphasis on strength, ergonomics and a high-quality finish. It is, of course, certified for both Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless.

Amplifier, outputs and digital transport
The headphone amplifier uses a classic op-amp architecture with optimised filtering sections and a new output buffer. The Shanling M7T offers standard 3.5mm and 4.4mm outputs. However, the 3.5mm connector also features a digital SPDIF coaxial output function, so you can also use it as a digital signal source for an external DAC. The player supports local Hi-Res file playback up to PCM 768kHz/32bit and DSD1024, while also functioning as a USB DAC up to PCM 384kHz/32bit and DSD256.
Android 13, connectivity, battery life and build
The Shanling M7T runs on an open Android 13, which is very fast thanks to the Snapdragon 665 processor and 6GB of RAM. It also has plenty of space for downloaded apps or your audiobook library with 128GB of internal memory, which you can of course expand with a microSD card. It also offers two-way Bluetooth (transmitter and receiver) and supports 2.4/5GHz Wi-Fi. The large 7000mAh battery provides long-lasting operation and supports 18W fast charging (QC3.0/PD2.0).
