DirectCU II is the next step in evolution of the proven DirectCU technology. Cooling technology using thermally conductive 100% copper tubes, which are in direct contact with the graphics engine. This also meant discarding the metal shield between the core and the cooler present in classic graphics cards. In comparison with reference designs, cards equipped with DirectCU experience up to 20% lower temperatures under load. DirectCU II uses this revolutionary concept and also adds a pair of 80mm or 100mm soundproofed fans.
Unlike other cooling systems DirectCU II technology enables high-quality processing thanks to the use of its two large fans. In tests, DirectCU II technology offered up to 600% more air flow and up to 20% lower operating temperature than reference designs. This increased cooling efficiency is reflected by the immediate increase in performance, as the card can withstand greater loads. Due to higher tolerances and lower operating temperatures card users can also be further clocked. Graphics cards with DirectCU II technology are designed for more demanding users who want to experiment with overclocking and increasing performance.
