Compressors

Compressors are primarily used to inflate the tyres of cars, trucks and motorcycles. Thanks to additional adapters, they can also be used to inflate various sports and recreational equipment.

Power

230 V - can only be used near an mains outlet; these compressors are more efficient.
12 V - can be powered from your car's cigarette lighter, making it the ideal choice when on the road.
230 V and 12 V (combinations) - can be powered both using a mains supply and from a 12V car lighter socket.

Important parameters

Suction capacity (l / min) - indicates the performance of the compressor
Displacement (l / min) - corresponds to approximately 50-65% of the suction power; decreases with increasing output pressure.
Maximum pressure (bar / PSI / kPa) - choose a compressor with sufficient pressure to fill your tyres (with some margin). 1 bar = 14.5 PSI = 100 kPa.
Max. running time - after the maximum running time, the compressor must be allowed to rest for a few minutes (according to the manual) before being used again, otherwise you risk damaging the motor. Some models feature automatic shutdown, which automatically switches off the motor when it reaches a certain temperature.
Compression hose and power cable length - indicates how far the compressor can be placed from the power source.
Analogue / digital gauge - displays the current air pressure of the inflated object, so you know when the desired pressure has been reached
Weight - especially important if you want to transport the compressor.
