FiiO ECHO Black
FiiO ECHO Black
The FiiO ECHO MP3 player plays lossless music files with Hi-Res Audio certification. The metal body, made from a 6000-series aluminium-magnesium alloy, replaces the previous plastic materials and increases overall mechanical durability. The device has a built-in 2.39″ bezel-less IPS display with a resolution of 222×480 pixels, which shows a retro user interface with a spinning cassette theme. Music files are stored in the 8GB internal memory, which you can expand by up to another 256GB using a MicroSD card.

Construction
The outer chassis, made from a 6000-series aluminium-magnesium alloy, is created using precise CNC machining. The total weight of the device is 85g with dimensions of 55.5 × 85 × 14.3mm. The design is a direct reference to classic cassette players and uses a retro, animated user interface with a spinning tape motif. The colour IPS display also shows album art in JPG format and song lyrics in LRC format.
Dual converters and audio performance
Signal processing is handled by two separate Cirrus Logic CS43198 converters with a dedicated power supply. These integrated circuits operate with a signal-to-noise ratio of 131dB and total harmonic distortion of 0.0004%. The amplifier provides a balanced output power of up to 260mW per channel into a 32-ohm load. The unbalanced output then offers 120mW per channel at the same 32-ohm impedance.
Wireless connection
A physical connection to headphones is provided by an unbalanced 3.5mm Jack and a balanced 4.4mm Jack for compatibility with various cable types. Wireless audio transmission uses the integrated Bluetooth 5.3 interface with support for the basic SBC audio codec. The device operates in a frequency range from 20Hz to 85000Hz. The output impedance ranges from 0.4 Ohm to 0.7 Ohm.
Format and memory card support
The device supports a wide range of audio formats including lossless FLAC, WAV, APE, and DSD, as well as compressed MP3, M4A, and OGG. It plays DSD files up to the DSD256 specification and supports sampling up to 24-bit and 192kHz for PCM formats. The memory card slot accommodates MicroSD media. You can store thousands of high-resolution songs in the memory for on-the-go listening without any data compression.
DAC function
When connected to a computer or smartphone, the device functions in USB DAC mode as an external sound card with support for 16-bit / 48kHz PCM sampling. This feature completely bypasses the source device's standard audio circuitry and converts digital data into an analogue signal using its internal CS43198 converters. When operating in this mode, battery charging can be disabled in the settings, which prevents unwanted draining of the connected mobile phone's battery.
Battery life and additional features
The integrated 1100mAh battery provides power for long-term operation without the need for frequent recharging. The player can handle up to 14 hours of continuous music playback on a single full charge. Additional features include an integrated TXT file viewer for reading e-books and support for in-line headphone controls according to the CTIA standard, which is used for volume control and track skipping.
