What should I know before buying a webcam?

Resolution

Indicates the number of pixels that make up the final image. Higher resolution means more detailed video and therefore better image quality.

1280 × 720 px - sufficient for video conferences and calls.
1920 x 1080 px - ideal for YouTubers and high-quality streams.

Framerate (FPS)

This figure indicates the number of frames a webcam can take per second and how fast it can send them. Generally speaking, a higher framerate gives you smoother image. Basic cameras have FPS of about 20-30, the best webcams provide 60 or more.

With or without a microphone?
