Moringa oleifera is native to the foothills of the Himalayan mountains, but today it has spread to virtually all parts of the world with tropical and subtropical climates. The wild tree can reach a height of up to 12 metres. For cultivation, the tree is kept as a low shrub. The plant is multipurpose. The leaves, the fruits, which are rich in oil, and the roots, which taste like horseradish, are consumed. Its bark and bast can be used to make ropes and cordage. The infusion is herbal in taste and yellow to yellow-green in colour.
