Vilgain Pu-Erh Tea - secondarily fermented dark tea, from hand-picked young shoots and leaves, earthy taste with a distinctive aroma.

Vilgain Pu-Erh tea
Vilgain Pu-erh is a traditional Chinese dark tea made from the large-leaved variety of the Camellia sinensis var. assamica from the southwestern province of Yunnan. It is characterised by its bright red colour, delicate earthy flavour and distinctive aroma characteristic of the higher grades of Yunnan teas. Pu-erh is produced by the modern shou (ripe) production method, which uses rapid controlled microbial fermentation, called. wet-piling (wu-doi). This speeds up the entire production process, which traditionally took several decades (sheng method). The tea leaves are then dried, pressed and left to mature. Unlike commonly available Pu-erh teas, VIlgain Pu-erh is made from tiny, golden tips (young shoots) and young, tender leaves, making it a higher class of tea.
