Extended Warranty
In the event of a post-warranty defect, we will repair the product for you. If the repair is no longer possible for whatever reason, we will replace it with a new one, or issue a refund in the full amount of the purchase price.
- Warranty up to 3 years in addition to the legal warranty period.

- Alza collected the TV and had it repaired at an authorised service center. The customer delivered the TV to the nearest branch store. The repairs cost CZK 13,198 (64% of the purchase price) and the customer did not pay anything at all. The customer was notified by a text message about the the liquidation of the extended warranty and that they can pick up the TV at the branch store.

- The customer purchased a robot vacuum cleaner for CZK 6,602.
- They also purchased an extended warranty.
- The robot malfunctioned after the warranty period had expired.
- Alza collected the vacuum cleaner and had it repaired at an authorised service center. The customer delivered it to the nearest Alza Box (pin: claim number). The repairs cost was CZK 4,034 (61% of the purchase price) and the customer did not pay anything. The customer was notified by a text message about the the liquidation of the extended warranty and that they can pick up the vacuum cleaner at the branch store.

- The customer purchased a tumble dryer for CZK 8,855.
- They also purchased an extended warranty.
- The tumble dryer stopped working after the warranty period had expired.
- The customer arranged for the tumble dryer repair from the comfort of their home. The cost of the repair was set at a maximum of 70% of the purchase price. The customer made the payment directly to the technician and subsequently sent the repair invoice to the following address: [email protected]. The amount was then transferred to the customer's provided bank account. The customer saved time and hassle of disassembly, and subsequent reinstallation of the tumble dryer.

Is it possible to extend the warranty retroactively?
Yes, the warranty can be extended during the statutory warranty, as long as the service is currently available. It is possible to extend the warranty even after filing a claim.

Does the service also cover mechanical damage?
The extended warranty covers manufacturing defects in the same way the statutory warranty does. Mechanical damage is not one of them.

Will I, as a VAT payer, be required to pay VAT, as in the case of car insurance?
Yes, if the insurance claim is resolved by repair. You, as a VAT payer, will be required to pay VAT from the price of the repair (this also applies to the exchange for another unit in the service centre). However, as in other cases, the VAT can be claimed back from the state.

How long can it take to process an insurance claim?
We try to process each case within 45 days from the date the product is handed over. This deadline is met in the vast majority of cases. However, the statutory deadline for settling the insured event is up to 90 days; this is also stated in the insurance contract.

Will I be lent a replacement product for the duration of the repair?
We currently do not provide replacement products for the duration of the insured event as part of the Extended Warranty service.

How to proceed when making a claim for major appliances?
If your major appliance is damaged, you must first contact Alza.cz (phone number: +420 225 340 777, e-mail: [email protected]) and report the insurance event. Make sure to list the cause of the insurance event and the extent and nature of the damage. Also provide information from the proof of purchase, which shows when and how the insurance was arranged.
Subsequently, you will arrange a visit by a technician from an authorised service centre at your home. If the repair costs don't exceed 70% of the product's purchase price, you proceed with the repair. You then send us the repair invoice via email, and we will reimburse the repair expenses to your registered bank account. In case the repair exceeds 70% of the device's purchase price (making it impractical to repair) or if the service is unavailable, please contact our customer hotline at +420 225 340 777 and send the product to our return address along with a cover letter (return address, phone number, and a detailed description of the issue). The consignment must include: the defective product, including any accessories that are necessary for the product to be used and diagnosed (we recommend that you include all accessories with the defective product). Additionally, we recommend including a copy of the purchase receipt or another suitable method to verify the product's warranty. Do you not agree with how the insured event was settled?
If you do not agree with how the insured event was settled, we recommend that you contact the independent claims adjuster RG Consulting s. r. o. on the e-mail address [email protected]. You will immediately receive a message about the start of the complaint investigation. This can take up to 30 days, depending on the workload and complexity of the case.
