This results in a higher chlorophyll and L-theanine content and a richer, greener colour. The fresh leaves are then picked, steamed, air-dried and ground into a powder. It has a stronger and more bitter taste compared to higher grades of Moya matcha. It is an ideal choice for green tea lovers and a perfect ingredient for smoothies, ice cream and baking.

Preparation
Preparing matcha tea is not time-consuming and does not require any special skills. It is a fine powder that is mixed with water. For this purpose, you can use a traditional bamboo whisk (chasen), a classic whisk or an electric milk frother. The traditional way of preparing matcha tea comes from the Japanese tea ceremony (chanoyu). To prepare the drink, you need a bowl (chawan), a bamboo whisk (chasen) and a bamboo scoop (chashaku). Place a spoonful of matcha traditional (1.5g) into the bowl with the bamboo scoop (chashaku), pour in 100ml of hot water (80°C) and whisk with the bamboo whisk (chasen) until a thick green foam is formed. Top up the drink with water to 200–250ml. As with coffee, some people like to drink a strong matcha espresso, while others prefer to add more water to dilute it. You can also mix matcha with juice or milk. Enjoy. The drink can be prepared and consumed cold for a very refreshing experience. Empty a 1.5g sachet of matcha into a bottle of cold water and mix. Enjoy.
