Alza Days - Compasses - additional info
A magnetic compass is a simple device operating on the basic compass principle. A compass is used for orientation in the field, identifying the cardinal directions, or measuring the azimuth. It is both a practical tool for outdoor explorers and a delightful toy for children. The compass needle always points to the Earth’s magnetic pole, making it sufficiently accurate for most orientation purposes.
