Exercise Mats

Mat material

• Mats made of plastic (TPE, PVC, PER) are cheaper and more durable. They are easier to wash, too. However, they do not absorb moisture and can get slippery if you perspire a lot.
• Mats made of organic materials (rubber, jute, cotton) absorb moisture, including sweat. The downside is their higher cost and difficult maintenance (instead of washing, it is recommended to simply air them outside often).

How long should my mat be?

• Choose the size according to your height and the type of exercise you are planning to do on it.
• When exercising while lying flat on your back, the mat should reach at least from your shoulders to buttocks, though we recommend you buy a mat 170 long or longer.  
• Yoga exercises, for example, require a longer mat (at least 170 cm).
• Conversely, aerobic workouts are generally done in a standing position, so a mat about 100 cm in length should be enough.
